Meet Jonathan "JJ" Jordan
After years of struggling with his weight, JJ turned to a personal trainer to guide him to attain a healthy and disciplined lifestyle. Realizing the newfound strength and positive personal outlook he gained in return, JJ was inspired to leave his corporate job to pursue a career in fitness, eager to transform the lives of his future clients in the same way his personal trainer had impacted his own.
As a Tier 3+ Trainer and Instructor at Equinox’s iconic downtown San Francisco club, JJ offers his clients personalized fitness programs and nutritional advice to coach them towards healthier, sustainable lifestyles. Formerly a partner at a large consulting firm, he understands the physical and mental challenges that busy San Francisco professionals experience on a daily basis, and takes each client’s unique lifestyle demands into consideration when creating his fitness programs.
JJ is a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Weight Loss Specialist (WLS) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and holds several other leading industry certifications including Precision Nutrition L1, TRX, Kettlebell Athletics L1 Coach, USA W Sports Performance Coach, Pre-Post Natal, Spinning and CrossFit Level 1. An accomplished personal trainer and nutritional coach, he was nominated by his client base and voted by San Francisco as the Bay Area’s “Hottest Male Trainer” in 2015 and was honored as Equinox’s Top Producing Trainer in 2014. JJ holds a Psychology degree from Duke University, where he graduated with honors. JJ is enrolled in a 600-hour program at the San Francisco School of Massage & Bodywork to become a certified massage therapist in 2017.
